Joint Supervision Agreements
The thesis cotutelle is a provision allowing a student to carry out their research work under the responsibility of two thesis supervisors: one in Algeria and the second in a foreign country. The two co-supervisors jointly exercise their duties with the doctoral student, who is required to work alternately in both institutions.
The thesis gives rise to a single defense (in one of the two countries), in one of the two national languages, and leads to the issuance of two diplomas in both institutions:
- A doctorate from the University of Oran 1 Ahmed Ben Bella,
- A diploma of equivalent level to the Algerian doctorate in the partner country
In Algeria, the thesis Cotutelle is governed by Decrees No. 547 FR - AR of June 16, 2016 establishing the organization of third-cycle training for obtaining the doctorate degree and Decree No. 704 of June 16, 2016 establishing the procedures and modalities for organizing international cotutelle of doctoral thesis training.
