Laboratory for the Analysis and Design of Media Models in History, Economy, Sociologyy, and Politics

The SIGMA Laboratory (LABO.SIGMA) is an academic research laboratory affiliated with the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Oran 1. The laboratory focuses on the analysis and design of media models in history, economics, society, and politics through seven main research teams: the first team, led by Dr. Raïs Ali Ibtissem, titled "Media and Societal Issues," which studies the impact of media on public opinion, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and ethical issues; the second team, led by Dr. Boukhnoun Miloud, titled "Semiotics, Intercultural Communication, and New Media," which researches global semiotics, cultural hegemony, identity, and intangible heritage; the third team, led by Dr. Merzouki Badr Eddine, titled "Media, Communication, and Dialogue of Civilizations," which deconstructs religious and political ideological discourse to form national identity through socialization institutions; the fourth team, led by Dr. Brik Fatima, titled "Environmental Education and Sustainable Development Models," which explores environmental education, sustainable development, and digital transformation in developing countries to achieve economic, environmental, and social balance with a focus on innovation and digital inclusion; the fifth team, led by Dr. Ghomchi Zahra, titled "Digital Development: Contemporary Visions and Strategies," whose main goal is to understand how technology and digital innovations can enhance economic and social development in developing countries and achieve a balance between benefits and challenges; and the sixth team, led by Dr. kaïd Fatiha, which includes English language professors from the Higher School of Teachers at the University of Oran and works on introducing English into the teaching of media and communication sciences; and the seventh team, led by Dr. Medjahed Yamina, titled "History and Media through Archives and Others."
