The Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Research Laboratory (LBMBM) is a multidisciplinary research unit of excellence dedicated to precision medicine. We explore complex molecular mechanisms to transform biological understanding into concrete clinical solutions. Our mission is to shift from conventional medicine toward a personalized, predictive, and curative approach.
Strategic Research Areas :
1. Precision Oncology and Therapeutic Resistance: This represents our primary research focus. We analyze the genetic and metabolic profiles of tumors to tailor treatments to each patient. A major component of our work involves elucidating the mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies, aiming to anticipate treatment failure and propose combinatorial alternatives.
2. Other Cross-Cutting Areas : Leveraging our expertise in molecular biology, we apply our analytical models to other critical healthcare challenges :
• Specialized Pediatrics: Specialized Pediatrics: Genetic characterization of rare diseases in children to reduce diagnostic wandering.
• Transplant Biology: Optimizing organ and tissue grafts by studying markers of immunological tolerance and rejection.
• Chronic Diseases: Biological monitoring and prediction of complications through the analysis of long-term metabolic disorders.
The LBMBM serves as a bridge between the bench and the bedside. By combining the study of tumor resistance with diagnostic innovation, we contribute directly to enhancing patient care and improving quality of life.
